Cabernet Sauvignon Caldwell Vineyard

Di Costanzo is a collection of elegant, dimensional, and classically styled Cabernet Sauvignons, each sourced from a single, heritage vineyard, comprised of volcanic soils. Each site boasts a magical combination of responsible farming, mature vines, temperate micro-climates, and soils formed by our region’s volcanic past. All the Di Costanzo Cabernets have their own distinct story, but when tasted comparatively they all exemplify the best of Napa and Sonoma Cabernet Sauvignon and belong together as a family.

Winemaking Information

Di Costanzo’s Caldwell Vineyard Cabernet typically sees 22 months of aging in about 50% new French oak barrels. These wines are known for their bright acidity and freshness, complexity and depth. 100% Cabernet Sauvignon. Annual production is approximately 200 cases.

Vineyard Information

Caldwell Vineyard sits high on the southern rim of Napa’s Coombsville AVA, cooled by the nearby San Pablo Bay. Di Costanzo sources from Block 11 on the estate, planted in 1983, from cuttings smuggled out of Bordeaux. Sustainably farmed, the vineyard’s elevation ranges from about 300-600 feet, with soils rich in volcanic ash and rhyolitic tuff. Caldwell is a later ripening site in the Di Costanzo portfolio, with harvest occurring typically in mid-October.
