Di Costanzo’s passionate focus is single-vineyard, age-worthy wines, crafted by partners in wine and in life, Erin and Massimo Di Costanzo. Founded in 2010 in the Napa Valley, Di Costanzo believes great wine begins with unshakably high standards for their selection of heritage vineyard sites, sustainably farmed, and is achieved through careful and soulful winemaking in the cellar.
Founders Erin and Massimo Di Costanzo were inspired to develop their eponymous wine brand after seeing there was room at the table for Napa and Sonoma wines that embrace restraint and balance and which highlight the savory and minerally qualities found in select, heritage vineyard sites.
“Erin and Massimo Di Costanzo presented a stunning set of wines, capped off by a series of brilliant 2021 Cabernets that capture the essence of a house style deeply rooted in Napa Valley classicism.” – Antonio Galloni, Vinous.com
Erin was born and raised in Alaska, and her passion for wine led to her successes as a Certified Sommelier in New York City, where she discovered that a love for wine means a lifetime of study and discovery. When Napa beckoned, she accepted the role of Wine Director at PRESS in St. Helena, and from there her wine career continued to thrive as she sourced and discovered wines from the best and most coveted winemakers in California for her retail clients and won awards for her influence in the wine world.
Massimo was raised in an Italian household in Berkeley, educated at UC Davis, and later landed in Napa Valley after apprenticing in wine regions across the world. Those harvests abroad were richly formative: at Tignanello in Italy, with Adi Badenhorst in South Africa, and Clos de los Siete in Argentina. Here at home, his experience deepened, making wines at Ovid, Screaming Eagle and with Atelier Melka. He realized his guiding winemaking principles: sustainable agriculture, a less is more approach, organic yeast, low sulfur, little to no fining or filtration, and no technological manipulation of the wines.
